Problem Statement

Existing functionality such as the Icebox covers parts of a similar use case, but it is technically based on a frozen intermediate task execution state. This concept is not suitable for the extended requirements of an independently managed, reusable repository artifact with broader long-term usage. Therefore, the new requirements cannot be addressed by a simple extension of the Icebox and require a separate component

The Data Repository provides value by:

  • separating data persistence from the original extracting or processing task,

  • enabling reuse of business-defined data sets across teams,

  • abstracting technical task details from downstream users,

  • providing a centrally managed and searchable inventory of repository entries,

  • creating a foundation for broader repository-based processing patterns in XDM

Scope

This epic includes:

  • introduction of a new XDM object for Data Repository entries,

  • central registration and management of repository metadata,

  • creation of repository entries by supported tasks,

  • reuse of repository entries as input for later processing,

  • metadata-based listing, detail view, and search,

  • initial integration into task execution and repository lifecycle handling
