XM4DB2 detects so-called "exceptions" in Db2 systems. It continuously monitors each business-critical Db2 system, proactively searching for indicators of current or potential future problems—these are known as "exceptions". An exception is an unacceptable situation that cannot be automatically resolved by Db2 or any other z/OS component. XM4DB2 alerts DBA staff and can optionally take corrective actions to resolve the issue. It operates in the background, continuously checking the availability of Db2 objects and the operational readiness of utilities, plans, and packages.
